About us

Galen is an attorney, mediator, and conflict adviser whose work integrates law, negotiation, psychodrama, documentary storytelling, and trauma-informed advocacy. He has supported families, communities, and organizations in matters involving wrongful death, child trauma, humanitarian access, and political instability.

Galen began his legal career in Colorado, working on complex cases such as wrongful death, product failures, civil-rights violations, human trafficking, and child injury. His work included legal research, negotiation, stakeholder coordination, and collaboration with journalists. He was part of litigation teams responsible for major settlements and several of the largest verdicts in state history.

He later developed a documentary and oral-history practice. His first camera was purchased to help stalled legal cases progress by presenting clients’ stories accurately to decision-makers. These short films clarified facts, brought in needed allies, and helped advance negotiations. This grew into a broader narrative-documentation practice, including oral-history interviews with families in Gaza, such as mothers who recently lost spouses or children.

Galen has contributed to humanitarian and political-dialogue efforts in Southeast Asia, including advisory and teaching work with individuals engaged in cross-border, community-health, and governance challenges.

He has completed nine years of psychodrama training, with emphasis on role analysis, sociometry, trauma-sensitive facilitation, and experiential methods for exploring conflict. He is also trained in mediation, family conflict resolution, and narrative approaches to problem-solving.

Outside formal professional work, Galen has volunteered as a camp counselor for the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, where children nicknamed him “Mr. Chill,” and serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)for children. He enjoys cooking, gardening, and community activities centered around shared work and daily routines.

Galen studied International Diplomacy & Technology at the Geneva Graduate Institute and participated in the Artificial Intelligence–Assisted Humanitarian Negotiation Challenge. He holds a J.D. (with honors, 2014) from the University of Wyoming College of Law and a B.A. in Creative Writing (with honors, 2011) from Colorado State University.
